I don't know if I would want something like that watching my every move. I have to agree it is a bit on the scary side. I think they need to make it somewhat less intimidating.
No offense to anyone, but all the professors I've ever met and their shinanagans have all been scary to me, so this article doesn't surprise me at all. Perhaps my paranoia of professors explains my poor grades?
The robot looks like Terminator, and the "over 18" bit is obviously just a stunt to attract media attention.
I bet the science content of the project is fairly minimal. If you really want people to interact with a robot then it should appear more hospitable.
If they really wanted to pull off an eye-catching stunt what about making a robot head which looked like Kevin Warwick?
That thing is what robotic nightmares are made of. They shoud have just made the eyes glow red. I mean it looks !@#$^%& scary!
