Robot Olympiad 2005 to Open in Seoul

The Robot Olympiad, an international robot competition, kicked off in Seoul, Korea on Thursday to showcase the latest technological advances in robotics. 320 contestants from 10 countries are participating in the four-day event which will have 16 types of competitions such as fighting, dancing and basketball. The machines will also compete in a 42 meter long marathon, finding their way through mazes and negotiating various obstacles like stairs. A robot soccer tournament will also be held.
