They have giant heads with glowing eyes and they want you to shop at Amazon. They're Box Bots, the latest Japanese corporate mascot. I spotted the first ones in paulpham's flickr stream but once you start looking, you'll see them everywhere. In addition to illuminated eyes, the 13cm tall robots have articulated legs, arms, and neck. They are offcially known as Revoltech Danboard robots. Danboard is from the Japanese word danboru which translates as "cardboard". Apparently, some people are even modding them into Mega Box Bots. You can buy your own from Amazon Japan. Hey Amazon Japan - send us a couple of Box Bots!
