HUBO Team Leader Oh Jun Ho InterviewPosted 18 Jan 2005 at 18:17 UTC by steve
OhmyNews International has posted an interview
with KAIST mechanical
engineering professor Oh
Jun Ho, who is the team leader on the HUBO humanoid robot project.
HUBO KHR-2,
who we mentioned in an earlier story, is a 120cm
tall humanoid robot
weighing 55kg with 41 joints. HUBO can walk at 1.25 km/h, has
individually articulated fingers, and can recognize visual and auditory
cues. Oh Jun Ho talks about the design process and why we need humanoid
robots. The article also includes photos of HUBO's construction and
testing. For more on the HUBO robot, see the KAIST Machine Control Lab website.
