How To Pair Airpods With Fire Tablet

how-to-pair-airpods-with-fire-tablet

To pair AirPods with a Fire tablet, turn on Bluetooth in the tablet's settings and put the AirPods into pairing mode by holding the setup button on the case until the light flashes white. Once both are discoverable, select the AirPods from the tablet's device list to complete the connection.

Enable Bluetooth on your Fire tablet

There are two ways to turn on Bluetooth, and both take only a few seconds. The fastest method is to swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings, then tap the Bluetooth icon to switch it on. If you prefer the full menu, go to Settings, tap "Connected Devices" or "Wireless & Bluetooth," then select "Bluetooth" and toggle it on.

With Bluetooth active, the tablet will begin scanning for nearby devices. Keep the screen on and move to the AirPods case next, you'll need both devices ready at the same time for the pairing step.

Put your AirPods into pairing mode

With the AirPods inside the case and the lid open, press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light on the front flashes white. This is the single, verified step that makes the AirPods discoverable to any Bluetooth device, including your Fire tablet. The white flashing light means they are now in pairing mode and ready to be found.

Connect your AirPods to the Fire tablet

On the Fire tablet, go back to the Bluetooth settings screen you opened earlier. Tap "Pair a Bluetooth Device" to start a fresh scan for available hardware. After a moment, your AirPods will appear in the list of found devices, tap their name to select them. The tablet will confirm the connection, and once it does, audio from the Fire tablet will route to the AirPods automatically.

If you ever want to switch back to the tablet's speakers or another Bluetooth device, just open the Bluetooth settings and choose a different output. The AirPods will remain paired, so reconnecting later only takes a tap.

Troubleshooting connection problems

If your AirPods do not show up in the list, make sure the case light is still flashing white. If it stopped, close the lid, wait a few seconds, then press and hold the setup button again until it flashes. Also confirm that Bluetooth is still enabled on the tablet, it can turn off automatically if the screen locks or the tablet goes into sleep mode.

For connection drops, the most reliable fix is to forget the AirPods from the tablet's Bluetooth settings, then repeat the pairing process from scratch. Then put the AirPods back into pairing mode and connect again. If audio plays through the tablet's speakers instead of the AirPods, check the Bluetooth settings to ensure the AirPods are still listed as the active device, and raise the volume on both the tablet and the AirPods themselves.

If you need to stop AirPods from connecting to other phones, place them back in the case, close the lid, and hold the setup button for about 15 seconds until the light flashes amber, then white, this resets the pairing history and clears the automatic connection to your iPhone or other devices. After that, pair them fresh with the Fire tablet using the steps above. For persistent issues, charge the AirPods fully and restart the Fire tablet before trying again.

Once connected, you can use the Fire tablet for movies, music, or calls without wires. The same steps work whether you want to connect wireless headphones to Amazon Fire tablet, pair earbuds to tablet from another brand, or simply use the Fire tablet as a secondary audio device for your AirPods.
