Before you start, make sure your wireless headphones are fully charged and know how to put them into pairing mode, consult the headphone’s manual for the specific button or combination to press. Also understand Bluetooth limitations on Fire tablets: Bluetooth microphones and microphone-enabled headsets are generally not supported, and only one audio device (headphones or speakers) can be connected at a time. A maximum of seven Bluetooth devices can be paired overall, but they must perform different functions.
How to connect wireless headphones to your Amazon Fire tablet
- Swipe down from the top of your Fire tablet screen to access Quick Settings.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon to turn it on. (Alternatively, on some models, go to Settings > Wireless & Bluetooth > Bluetooth.)
- Your Fire tablet will scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. When your headphones appear in the list, tap their name.

Tap and hold the Bluetooth toggle button until the adult profile screen appears. Enter your adult PIN, then connect the headphones in the adult settings as described above. After pairing, return to the child profile, the headphones will remain connected for audio playback.
Troubleshooting the connection
If your headphones do not appear in the Bluetooth list, ensure they are in pairing mode and within approximately 30 meters (100 feet) of the tablet. Restart both the Fire tablet and the headphones, then try scanning again. If audio cuts out or the Fire tablet keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi, check for firmware updates on both devices, outdated software can cause interference. For persistent issues, unpair the headphones and repeat the pairing process from the beginning.
