Humanoid Robot HR-2

Posted 18 Jul 2005 at 16:38 UTC by steve Share This

Mattias Jacobsson sent us a link to Almir Heralic's HR-2 robot saying, "nice job of a student at Chalmers University about a humanoid". The HR-2 is a tiny humoid robot with 22 degrees of freedom. It has stereo vision and a neural network brain that allows face recognition and tracking. It can also talk. Pretty amazing stuff for such a small robot. The webpage includes photos and some video of the robot in action.

Thats a cute little thing, but why so small?

why so small you say?, posted 19 Jul 2005 at 14:30 UTC by dogsbody_d » (Master)

Okay, I'm only guessing, but...

I reckon that it's small because that means that it can be built easily and cheaply by a student in a non-weldy discipline.
