Add money to PlayStation wallet with a credit or debit card
Accepted credit and debit card types include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. To add funds using your card, follow the steps for your specific device.
On PS5
- Go to Settings from the PS5 home screen.
- Select Users and Accounts, then Account.
- Choose Payment and Subscriptions, then select Add Funds.
- Choose a credit or debit card as your payment method, enter the amount you want to add, and confirm.
On PS4
- Go to Settings from the PS4 home screen.
- Select Account Management, then Account Information.
- Choose Wallet, then select Add Funds.
- Select your credit or debit card, enter the amount, and confirm the transaction.
Via web browser
- Sign in to the PlayStation Store website.
- Select your profile icon in the top right corner.
- Choose Payment Management, then select Add Funds.
- Pick a credit or debit card as your payment method, enter the amount you want to add, and click Add Funds.
Add funds with PayPal
Linking PayPal allows you to add money without entering card details directly. You can also use this method to get Discord on PlayStation, as wallet funds cover all store purchases.
On PS5
- Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Add Funds.
- Select PayPal as your payment method.
- You will be redirected to log in to your PayPal account.
- Authorize the transaction to add the chosen amount to your wallet.
On PS4
- Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Add Funds.
- Select PayPal as your payment method.
- Log in to your PayPal account when prompted.
- Confirm the transaction to complete the funding.
Via web browser
- Sign in to the PlayStation Store website.
- Select your profile icon, then Payment Management > Add Funds.

Redeem a PlayStation Store gift card
Gift cards provide a 12-digit code that you redeem to add their value to your wallet. To check your PlayStation wallet balance after redeeming, simply view your account on any device.
On PS5
- Open the PlayStation Store from the home screen.
- Select the three-dot icon (More) in the top right corner.
- Choose Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit code from your gift card and confirm.
On PS4
- Scroll down the sidebar menu to find Redeem Codes.
- Select it and enter the 12-digit code from your gift card.

- Go to store.playstation.com and login to PlayStation network.

Important things to know about your wallet funds
Funds added to your PlayStation wallet are generally non-refundable and non-transferable, except where legally required. The maximum amount of funds you can hold in your wallet is determined by Sony and can vary depending on your country or region. If a prepaid card's value would cause your wallet balance to exceed this limit, you will not be able to apply the full value until you spend enough to bring the total within the limit. Child accounts do not have their own wallet; all purchases made by associated child accounts use the family manager's PlayStation Store wallet, subject to a monthly spending limit. Funding methods, currency, and wallet funding limits can also vary depending on your country or region of residence.
