To download from Paramount Plus, you need an active Paramount+ Premium plan and the official app on a supported mobile device. This lets you save shows and movies to watch offline when you don't have an internet connection.
What you need to download from Paramount Plus
Downloading content requires a Paramount+ Premium subscription (formerly Paramount+ with SHOWTIME). The Essential (ad-supported) plan does not include this feature. Downloads are exclusively available through the official Paramount Plus app on supported mobile devices. Supported devices include iPhone and iPad models running iOS 16 or later, and Android phones and tablets running Android 7 or later. Downloading content is not supported on laptops, desktop computers (Windows or Mac), smart TVs, or streaming boxes. If you want to watch on a television, you can get Paramount plus on my smart TV and stream directly on supported smart TVs, but downloading for offline viewing is not an option on those devices. For Samsung TV owners, you can still download Paramount plus on Samsung smart TV to enjoy streaming on the big screen.
How to find downloadable content
Open the Paramount Plus app on your phone or tablet. Browse through categories or use the search function to find a show or movie you want to save. Look for the download icon, usually a downward-facing arrow, next to the title or episode. Not all content in the library is available for download due to licensing agreements; the presence of the download icon confirms eligibility. For a more detailed walkthrough, you can learn how to download movies on Paramount plus with step-by-step instructions.
How to start and monitor a download
Tap the download icon next to the eligible title or episode to begin saving it to your device. You may be prompted to choose a video quality setting before the download starts. Once initiated, you can navigate within the app while the download proceeds, but exiting the app entirely will pause the download. A progress indicator shows how much of the file has been saved.
Where to find your downloaded videos
Access your saved content by navigating to the "Downloads" section within the Paramount Plus app. This section is typically found under the "More" or "Profile" menu. From there, you can tap any downloaded title to play it offline without an internet connection.
Understanding download limits and expiry rules
Your download library can hold a maximum of 25 videos at one time across all devices. Downloaded videos remain available for 30 days if you haven't started watching them. Once you begin playback, you have 48 hours to finish watching before the download expires. If a download expires or you delete it, you can download it again as long as it is still available on the service.
Troubleshooting download problems
If you encounter issues while trying to download, first ensure your Paramount Plus app is updated to the latest version. Check that your device has ample storage space, as downloaded videos can consume significant memory. Also be aware that downloads may become unavailable if you travel to a different region or country where Paramount Plus does not hold streaming rights for that specific content. Keeping these factors in mind will help you maintain a smooth offline viewing experience.
