- Swipe left on the conversation in the Messages list and tap the bell icon (or "Hide Alerts").
- Alternatively, tap into the conversation, tap the contact's name or icon at the top, then turn on "Hide Alerts."
A crescent moon icon appears next to the conversation in the message list, indicating that alerts are hidden.
