Navigate to your Amazon Music Family settings
To start adding people, sign in to the Amazon account that holds the Family Plan and go to your Amazon Music settings. This is the central hub where you control who is part of your plan, so you will return here every time you want to add someone new or remove an existing member.
Send invitations to family members
Once you are in the Family settings page, you can send invitations to the adults you want to add. You have two ways to do this: you can send an invitation via email, or you can share a unique invitation URL link with your family members. The email method is straightforward, enter the person’s email address, and Amazon will send them an invitation with instructions. The URL method is useful if you are talking to someone in person or over the phone, because you can simply copy the link and send it through any messaging app. Either way, the invitation is tied to their own Amazon account, so make sure the person you are inviting knows which account they should use to accept it.
Accept the invitation and start listening
After you send the invitation, the invited person must accept it using their own Amazon account. They will receive an email with a link, or they can open the unique invitation URL you shared. When they click the link, they will be prompted to sign in to their Amazon account (or create one if they don’t have one yet). Once signed in, they will see a confirmation page and can accept the invitation. After acceptance, they immediately gain access to the shared Family Plan, including the full music library, playlists, and ad-free listening on their own devices. They do not need to use your login or your device; they simply use their own credentials to stream music under the shared plan.
What to do if the invitation link expires
If an invitation link expires before the person accepts it, you can go back to your Amazon Music Family settings and send a new invitation. There is no limit on how many times you can resend an invitation, so just generate a fresh link or email and share it again.
Avoid sharing your account password
It is important to understand that sharing your Amazon account login credentials for an individual Amazon Music Unlimited plan or Prime Music will not provide separate profiles or simultaneous streaming for others. If you share your password, the other person will only be able to use the same single-user profile, and you cannot both stream at the same time on different devices. This is why the Family Plan invitation process exists, it gives each person their own profile, their own listening history, and the ability to stream simultaneously. So, even if you are tempted to just give out your password, resist that urge and use the proper invitation method instead. This also protects your account security and ensures that everyone gets the full Family Plan experience, including the ability to download music from Amazon music for offline listening on their own devices.
