How Do I Sign Into Among Us

how-do-i-sign-into-among-us

To sign into Among Us, you simply open the game and let it automatically log you in using the account already active on your device, no email or password entry is required. This automatic sign-in process is how you sign into Among Us, as the game connects to your Google Play, Apple ID, Steam, or Xbox Live profile the moment you launch it. If you ever need to switch accounts, you must first log out in among us to disconnect your current profile, and you can log out of among us account mobile with a few taps if you are playing on a phone.

Step 1: Download and install Among Us

Before you can sign in, you need the game on your device. Among Us is available for download on iOS, Android, and PC. Go to your device's official app store, the Apple App Store for iOS, Google Play Store for Android, or Steam or the Microsoft Store for PC, and install the game. On Xbox, download it directly from the Xbox Store.

Step 2: Launch the game and let it sign you in

Once installed, open Among Us. The game should automatically attempt to log you in using the credentials currently active on your device. For example, on Xbox, it uses the active Xbox Live account; on iOS, a screen may pop up asking you to press "Continue" to confirm logging in with your Apple ID. On Android, it uses your Google Play Games profile, and on PC, it uses your Steam or Xbox Live account. Among Us does not ask for your email address for login, as the account is connected to your device platform profile which already stores this information. You can only have one Among Us account per platform profile (e.g., one per Steam Profile, Xbox Live Account, Google Play Profile, or Apple ID).

Step 3: Check your account status light

After the game attempts to sign you in, look at the top-left corner of the main menu. A green light indicates a fully verified and logged-in account, ready to play. A grey light means you are not logged in, possibly due to being offline, needing to log in to your platform service, or needing to create an account on your platform. A purple light indicates a partial login, allowing play but with limitations until the issue is resolved. This status light is your instant confirmation of whether the sign-in succeeded.

Why create a full account?

Playing in Guest Mode (without a full account) restricts you to using Quick Chat and randomized display names. Creating a full account allows you to choose your display name, use free text chat, and report inappropriate player conduct. Among Us usernames are not exclusive, meaning multiple players can use the same name. Players under the minimum age of digital consent (often 13) require parental or guardian permission to access free chat or change their display name. Recent updates have aimed to simplify the account process by removing guest accounts and prompting users to merge them into a full account.

How to link accounts across platforms

You can link accounts from different platforms (PC, Android, iOS, Xbox) to consolidate cosmetics, currency, and experience. To do this, navigate to accounts.innersloth.com. On the account linking page, select the account you use the most and sign in via that platform. You will see which accounts are already merged with your primary account and can select other platforms to link using the green "Link" button. A confirmation screen will appear when linking, showing which accounts are being merged. Note that account linking is currently being developed for Nintendo Switch, but it is not available for PlayStation. If linking a child's account into a full account, both accounts will inherit the child's account permissions. Linking two child's accounts will apply the permissions of the child account with the most permissions to both. If you encounter an error stating you already have two separate sets of merged accounts, you must link accounts individually to your primary account.

Troubleshooting common sign-in issues

If you see a grey or purple light, start by checking your internet connection. Next, ensure you are logged into the platform service on your device, for example, make sure Xbox Live is active on Xbox, or that you are signed into Google Play Games on Android. On iOS, you may need to confirm the Apple ID prompt. If you were previously playing as a guest, the game may prompt you to merge that guest account into a full account; follow the on-screen instructions to complete the merge. If the issue persists, restart the game and your device, then try launching Among Us again.
