Just in case you've been offworld and somehow missed the news, Linus announced the release of the version 2.6.0 of the Linux kernel Wednesday. One of the most significant changes to the Linux kernel for us robot folks is the merging of much of uCLinux into the mainstream kernel. This means 2.6 is going to become even more widespread in robotics and other embedded applications. For a more general description of what's new in the 2.6 kernel, check out The Wonderful World of Linux 2.6 by Joe Pranevich.
