Check your TV's compatibility to get CNN on Samsung Smart TV
Before you begin, confirm your Samsung Smart TV supports the CNN app. Press the Home button on your remote, navigate to the Apps section, and select the Samsung App Store tile. Use the Search icon (the magnifying glass in the top-right corner) to search for "CNN." If the CNN app appears in the search results, your TV is compatible. If you ever need to exit the app and get back to regular TV on my Samsung smart TV, the Home button is your quickest route; you can also get back to cable TV on Samsung smart TV if you’re switching from a streaming session to your cable box. If the Apps List doesn't appear, press the Apps tile on the Home Screen and agree to the Terms and Conditions to proceed.
Install the cnn app
- Press the Home button on your remote control.

Delete and reinstall the app
If the CNN app isn't working, press the Home button, choose Apps, then select the Settings icon. Highlight CNN and choose "Delete." Update the app
To update the CNN app, press the Home button, choose Apps, then select the Settings icon and choose "Update." Keeping the app current often resolves performance issues.
Turn on auto-update
To prevent future problems, set apps to "Auto Update" by going to Home > Apps > App Settings > Auto Update and setting it to ON. This ensures the CNN app updates automatically.
Reset Smart Hub
If the app remains slow or unresponsive, perform a Smart Hub reset as a last resort. Navigate to Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub. The default PIN is 0000. Note that resetting Smart Hub will reset all Smart Hub settings, downloaded apps, and accounts stored on your TV.
