Before you download pictures from Zillow: know the legal limits
Zillow does not assert copyright or grant any rights to the underlying images or descriptions of real estate listings provided through its services. This means that while you can save photos for your own personal use, you do not automatically own the rights to them. Knowing this upfront helps you avoid unintentional copyright violations, especially if you are tempted to reuse the images beyond your private collection.
Find the property and open its photos
Go to the Zillow website and use the search bar to enter a location, address, or listing ID. Browse the search results and click on a property thumbnail or title to open its full listing page. On the listing page, locate the "Photos" tab, usually next to tabs like "Overview" or "Description", and click it to view the complete photo gallery. Scroll through the gallery to see all available images of the property, including interior, exterior, and feature shots.
Save a single photo to your computer
- Click on a photo in the gallery to enlarge it.
- Right-click the enlarged photo and choose "Save Image As" from the context menu.
- In the file browser window, navigate to the folder on your computer where you want to save the photo.
- Optionally, rename the photo to something descriptive, such as "PropertyName_Kitchen.jpg."
- Click the "Save" button to download the photo to your chosen destination.
Download multiple photos at once
To save several photos, you will need to right-click and save each photo individually. Your browser will prompt you to choose a destination folder for each image you save. For better organization, consider creating a dedicated folder for Zillow photos and saving all images from one property into a subfolder named after that property's address or listing ID.
What you can and can't do with downloaded Zillow photos
You can use saved Zillow photos for personal reference, such as comparing properties, collecting design inspiration, or visualizing your dream home. However, you cannot republish the images on another website, use them for commercial purposes, or share them publicly without obtaining permission from the copyright owner. Since Zillow grants no rights to the images, any republication or commercial use violates copyright law and could result in legal consequences. Stick to private, non-commercial use to stay within legal boundaries.
