iRobot Create: Roomba Hacking Made Easy

Several readers have submitted links to the cnet News story on the iRobot Create this morning. The Create is a robot base targeted at hobby and education use. Considering how many hobbyist hack Roombas and use them as general purpose robot bases, this sounds like a great idea. Create's chassis is basically a Scooba with the fluid tank and brushes removed to create a cargo bay. Connectors have been added to make it easier to attached manipulator arms, cameras, or other devices to the robot. Tom Atwood of Robot Magazine emailed too, saying they already had a "first impressions" article up (and some nice photos).
