Mount the right game to fix gmod textures

As a last resort, you can "download Steam workshop mods without Steam" using third-party tools, but be cautious of malware, always verify the file hash. After placing the files into garrysmod/addons, restart Gmod. The checkerboards should resolve once the correct .vtf and .vmt files are present in your texture folders.
