Many robot builder grew up listening to the electronic music of Kraftwerk. They're playing in LA next week as part of a rare US tour. LA Weekly interviews Ralf Hutter about his opinions on electronic music, the relationship of man and machine, cyborgs, artificial intelligence, and their robot twins who sometimes perform on stage in their place. On their current tour, they've replaced their old, analog equipment with modern digital equipment and laptops. Each bandmember stands at an identical lecturn, using a laptop to control the performance.
