To set up Netflix with T-Mobile, you need to activate the Netflix On Us perk through your T-Mobile account, whether you are new to Netflix or linking an existing subscription. The process takes just a few minutes and can be done via text message, the T-Mobile website, or the T-Life app.

Check if your T-Mobile plan includes Netflix

Before you start, confirm that your plan qualifies for Netflix On Us. Eligible plans include any Go5G or Magenta plan with two or more lines, as well as Experience More 2.0, Experience Beyond 2.0, Experience More, Experience Beyond, Go5G Next, Go5G Plus, or Magenta MAX. Discounted phone plans like 55+, Military, First Responder, and Student Perks are also included. To verify your eligibility, sign in to your My T-Mobile account and check your plan details under the account summary. If you see Netflix listed as a benefit, you are ready to proceed.

Before you set up Netflix with T-Mobile

If you already have a Netflix account, log out of Netflix on all devices before starting the activation process. This ensures a smooth link between your T-Mobile and Netflix accounts. New Netflix users can create an account during the activation steps.

  1. Wait for the SMS from T-Mobile containing an activation link.
  2. Tap the activation link in the text message.
  3. Sign in to your T-Mobile account on My T-Mobile. If you don't have an account, you will be prompted to create one.
  4. Tap the ">" next to the Netflix add-on to activate.
  5. Select the box to accept the Terms & Conditions and click "Start activation".
  6. Enter your existing Netflix email address and password to link your current account, or create a new Netflix account to be linked.

How to activate Netflix on the T-Mobile website

  1. Sign in to www.t-mobile.com on a web browser.
  2. Select "Manage Add-ons" in the top bar, or select "View account" to the right of "My Line" or "Other lines and Devices".
  3. Scroll down to "Line-Level Services" or "Account-Level Services".
  4. T-Mobile will display which phone line is being updated; use the dropdown at the top to change the line if needed.
  5. Select the preferred Netflix option: Standard with ads, Standard, or Premium.
  6. Highlight the checkbox, then click "Continue".
  7. Accept the Terms & Conditions and Third-Party Terms & Conditions.
  8. Press "Activate" to be redirected to Netflix.com.

How to activate Netflix in the T-Life app

  1. Download or open the T-Life app and sign in to your T-Mobile account.
  2. Select the "Manage" tab, then "See plans", then "Manage add-ons".
  3. Scroll down to select the streaming benefit and click "Continue".
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to link or create your Netflix account.

How to manage your Netflix plan and account

Once activated, you can upgrade to Netflix Standard or Netflix Premium for a discounted rate through your T-Mobile bill. This is how you get Netflix with better resolution and more screens. To recover your Netflix account if you lose access, sign in to your My T-Mobile account, select the "Account" tab, then your phone number. Under "Active Add-ons", select your Netflix plan on the "Add-on Details" page, then choose "Manage Netflix" in the fine print, and select "Recover your account". This is how you access your Netflix account if you are locked out.

What happens to Netflix if you cancel your T-Mobile line

If you cancel your qualifying T-Mobile line, your Netflix membership will not automatically cancel. Netflix will resume charging your existing payment method on file, which can lead to an unexpected bill. To avoid this, manually cancel your Netflix subscription before or immediately after canceling your T-Mobile line.
