How Do You Make A Night Vision Potion In Minecraft

To make a night vision potion in Minecraft, you brew an Awkward Potion and then add a Golden Carrot.

What you need to brew a night vision potion

Gather these items before you start: a Brewing Stand, Blaze Powder for fuel, at least one Water Bottle, Nether Wart, and a Golden Carrot. You will also need a source of water to fill your glass bottles.

Step 1: Craft an awkward potion

Place your Water Bottles in the three bottom slots of the Brewing Stand. Add Nether Wart to the top ingredient slot. The brewing process will convert the water bottles into Awkward Potions, which serve as the base for all positive-effect potions.

Step 2: Add a golden carrot

With the Awkward Potions still in the bottom slots, place a Golden Carrot into the top ingredient slot of the Brewing Stand. After the brewing finishes, the Awkward Potions will become Potions of Night Vision.

How to get the ingredients

Nether Wart is found naturally in Nether Fortresses or Bastion Remnants, typically growing on Soul Sand in stairwell gardens. You can also craft a Golden Carrot by combining 1 carrot with 8 gold nuggets on a crafting table. This makes the Golden Carrot a renewable ingredient if you have a steady supply of gold nuggets and carrots.

Growing your own nether wart

Nether Wart can be planted on Soul Sand in any dimension and does not require water or specific light levels to grow. Bone Meal has no effect on the growth of Nether Wart, so you must wait for it to mature naturally over time. Plant it in rows on Soul Sand blocks for a reliable supply.

Using your night vision potion

This effect is invaluable for cave exploration, underwater navigation, and navigating the Nether, where darkness hides dangers and valuable resources alike. You can extend the duration to 8 minutes by adding Redstone to the potion in the Brewing Stand.
