The 'no power to Rc wire' error means your thermostat isn't receiving 24V power from your cooling system. Check if the float switch on your HVAC drain pan or condensate pump is tripped, as this safety device cuts Rc power to prevent water damage.
Clear the condensate float switch to restore Rc wire power
Go straight to your air handler or furnace and find the secondary drain pan or condensate pump. Look for a small cylinder with two wires and a visible float. If the float is stuck at the top, water is blocking the safety circuit that kills Rc power. Empty the pan or pump basin immediately, then press the float down manually. If the switch has a red reset button, press it until you hear a click. The Rc power should return and the error will clear on its own.
Seat the blower door firmly to close the safety switch
If the float switch is clear, walk to the furnace or air handler and push the blower compartment door until all latches snap shut. Most units have a safety switch that cuts power when the door is loose, which can cause a missing Rc signal.
