Wow I just came across this [6-13-2012] :) I am finishing up college and 23 years old! I am currently a Software Engineer for Rushordertees.com, I have done AI research and Drexel University and EMG research to control robotic limbs at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I run a few .coms but I have been out of touch with robotics and would like to get back into it. I miss working on projects just for fun :)

My next project will be to follow the blue prints of the winner of Microsoft's Robotics @Home Competition, The smart Tripod. I also do film production so I figure I can it would come in handy!

My Old Summary - [I'm 13 years old. Building robots is my favorite hobby
and my favorite interest. I have built a couple of
robots but they were with a kit. I'm working on a
Robot with out a kit. None of my robots have been in
any competitions. Yes, I am very interested in
hardware etc. The robot i was working with is almost
completed all a i need is a sound sensor and it
will be done. Im 14 now ]

i'm working on interfacing the smoke detectors, and also the scree which pinpoints were the fire is. the screen will be a wipe away marker board so that i can draw the out line of the building and i will put LEDs were ever the sensors (smoke and flame detectors) are. I'm also thinking of adding a temperature sensor in each room and set it at a threshold so that when a fires heat triggers that.

my light avoiding robot was easy to build , now i'm trying to develop a learning pogam so that it can lean fom its mistakes. I am alsowoking on a fire alarm system (for large buildings) using the BS2 it usesinfared to detct the bright flames of fires and smoke detectors fo SMOKE. The system will piunpoint exactly were the fire in the building is. thats all for today

The arm finished 5th in the science fair. I recently came in second out of 28 in a robot contest, that was for programming a BOE bot to go through a maze. What i am really proud of is that every one else was 18 years or older. I am working on a project, it is to make a humanoid robot driven by servos and it will use infrared sensors to avoid objects. The arms (if there will be arms) will probably be remote controlled. There is going to be a wireless camera for the head on the pan&tilt. Any way i'll keep you updated.
