Notes:
Hi! I've built a couple robots, one for a small competition at Vassar College (the first US college to offer "Cognitive Science" as a degree, not to brag too much :-P). I'm not a member of any robotic groups, because I don't know if there are any where I'm living. ... I should look into that more, now that I'm living somewhere for more than a couple months in a row, and that's less of an excuse. I'm interested in an interesting combination of hardware and software. I don't believe that strong-AI can ever truly be achieved through a computer terminal that blurts out some supposedly appropriate response, but rather, that it has to be built up through learning, and through layers of behaviour, and that therefore, a software-based strong-AI can only be achieved with a physical, hardware embodiment attached to it.
