Notes: I am a high school student who joined my highschool's local science olympiad club. This is a competition where various teams from schools all over the country compete in local, state, and national competitions in different events. Last year I competed in a trial event where I had to build a robot that would pick up objects on the playing field and put them in a box. Well, despite my ignorance about anything electronic, my partner and I won third place, and I've been hooked on electronics ever since. Right now, I've decided to build a personal robot of my own, but haven't started on it yet. Any good design tips and hints would be wonderful. Thanks! My e-mail is timetravelerkw@wmconnect.com

Hey everyone, I'm new at the whole automated robot stuff. WHat's up with the microcontrollers? What I mean is, which ones would be good for a beginner to try out, and how does one go about using them, programming them, etc? Thanks for the help. My e-mail is timetravelerkw@wmconnect.com

Well, right now, I'm looking at some Beam technology type robots and seeing how to use things like solar cells and light sensors to make a robot do run off light and search for it. Also, I'm interested in symets, and I think it would be cool to figure out some adaptions on them.
