Posted 1 Oct 2002 at 23:07 UTC by steve Share This

An Evolution Robotics press release issued today announced that their ER1 robotics platform will be available at Fry's, FAO Schwarz and other retail stores soon. They'll also be available through mail-order houses such as J & R and online via Amazon.com. According to the press release, the retail locations will have demo units available. The ER1 is a sort of wheeled frame that does for laptop computers what the CMU PPRK did for PDAs.

Store demos, posted 2 Oct 2002 at 17:31 UTC by jjwiseman » (Observer)

Many of the in-store demos are being done by Evolution employees, including the hardware and software engineers that developed ER1. That might make the demos more interesting for you if you're interested in finding out more of the technical details of the system.
