The Autopilot UAV Project

Posted 25 Oct 2001 at 20:30 UTC by steve Share This

The Autopilot UAV Project was set up to develop command and control software for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. The project also hopes to develop UAV hardware that can carry a 50Kg payload with a flight time of 2 hours, all for under $10,000. A compaq iPAQ running Linux will be used as the ground station. The prototype has already completed some test flights. The current version of the software, Autopilot 1.3, is designed to run on an AVR microcontroller. Autopilot is free software licensed under the GNU GPL.
