| Project ROACH robots are based on a Radio Shack 'Scorpion Tracks' RC car. The first robot being built under the project encorperates a modified Sharp GP1U58X IR shurt range proximity detector ring, a pan-tilt mechanism complete with a proelectric sensor, IR/low light camera+video transmitter, Polaroid 6500 ranging module, and IR illuminator system. The robot's main controller is based on the MIT 6.270 68HC11A1 microcontroller, with a 19.2k baud Spread-spectrum radio modem for remote computer control. This robot has been an in-progress project for the last two years, but is now nearing completion. | |
