This is my first attempt at a fire-figther for the trinity contest. The original plan was to create a general purpose robot platform I could use for testing various AI approaches and vision stuff. It will eventually become just that but for now I thought it would be interesting to compete in a few events. It runs on a Atmel AVR AtMega128-16 with custom made optical encoders with full PID. Uses 5 Sharp GP2D12 for basic object avoidance and wall following. This is my attempt at coding the AI in a TLA (Three Layer Architecture) programming model. My previous two robots used the Subsumption Architecture from the man himself (R. Brooks!) but I decided to try a more modern approach to permit me to achieve more complex tasks. The web page acts like a log book so keep checking often!
