Cylon is a robot based on an electric monster truck chassis with a Via EPIA motherboard running Windows XP Embedded and .NET 2.0 for brains. It integrates 802.11b, GPS, webcamera, digital compass, and Sharp IR distance sensors. It uses an Acroname Brainstem for the sensor & motor IO. The primary emphasis of the project is on creating the software intelligence of the robot. The software includes a custom vision application that can recognize an orange cone. It has a .NET object model on top of the Brainstem SDK and the decision making logic is written in C#.
