I've recently added a forum section dedicated to hacking the Roomba vaccum cleaner (and it's competitors once they start to appear). Please visit the Roomba & Competition forum section and share your hacks. My current hack will be a custom modification of the Bluetooth control hack recently covered in Make Magazine's blog. This is the hack that adds a wireless interface to the (newer) Roomba's serial interface, as seen on the Make Magazine blog.

I now have the complete set of WowWee Toys robots:

• Robosapien V2

• Roboraptor

• Robopet

I have already successfully added support to Robosapien Dance Machine for the Robopet and today, although it has not been tested yet, I finished adding support for the Robosapien V2. The Roboraptor will have to wait a few days but it's actually the easiest of the three robots to support since it has a minimum of functions that are controllable from the remote control. The V2 was quite a chore to add support, because it has approximately 100 individual functions that the remote control can access.

Today I start making a comedy video involving the Robosapien V2 and the other robots. I'll post again when the video is ready.

I just got a Sharper Image Robosapien V2. The controller has 3 shift keys! I am currently working on voice control for the V2 via Robosapien Dance Machine, which should make the unit a lot more fun to interact with and control.

For my the Robosapien V2 fans/owners out there. I've started a blog called the Robosapien V2 Review. The blog will be chock full of updates concerning the latest hacks, tips and tricks for the Robosapien V2 robot.

Anybody get their Alive Chimpanzee heads yet? I just found out mine is on backorder until 11/15/2005 and that's the potential ship date.

Picked up a Robopet recently. It's actually pretty clever and even has a small amount of learning capability. I am a bit saddened that there is no easy way to gain access to it's sensors so I could read the data into a PC and control the robot using homebrew AI routines; but it is definitely a quality unit and a lot of fun.
