Notes: Personally, I am an organizer. A group of my technically-minded friends is interested in starting a local robotics competition, and they have asked me to look into the logistics of venues, permits, insurance, funding, advertising - all of the things that can't be milled, welded, or wired. What a huge and complex task this is turning out to be! At the same time, I am meeting some very intelligent and interesting people, and finding that while the competitive spirit is strong, so is the sense of community and the desire to have tons of fun. ***We have also hooked up with The Geek Group in Kalamazoo. They will be helping us with Phobia House 2003, which is the most twisted and amazing haunt ever. It is the basis for our interest in using robotics for special (scary) effects.
