I am a university student going for school for computer programming. I'm currently working on a set of software tools to allow people to program their BASIC stamps from within linux.

Another great release of BSide is out the door. In this release I've completely rewrote the terminal window and added support for Parallax's DEBUGIN and cursor control characters. I also included a serial class which will allow us to better control RS232 settings and communication.
If your interested, check it out at http://www.devscott.org/projects/bside
After a couple more weeks of coding, I'm pleased to deliver a second beta of version 0.05. Most notable feature in this release is support of the DEBUGIN command, other smaller fixes, and our serial class continues to grow stronger. I encourage everyone to give it a try and let me know your results.

I'm sorry to say that there will not be a release this month. I've been kept pretty busy with a new semester in school and getting use to a new set of classes, so I've been unable to work on bside as much as I would've wanted.
I do have good news. For those wanting a GUI, I have started work on the GUI based on qt 4. I'm hoping to have a simple version ready for Oct 25th's release. :)
Other than that, Thank you for all your feedback and kind words. Please keep it coming.
BSide 0.04 is out and ready to be downloaded. This release focuses on bug fixes. I'm hoping to include support for both the BASICX stamp and the zBASIC stamp in 0.05, but right now that is only a hope.
Feel free to download and give BSide a try.
