I am a Software Engineer trying to gain more knowledge of robotics and embedded systems. My degree in Computer Science and my career have mostly revolved around software systems so I am trying to learn more about the mechanical side of things. I have lately been interested in tone generation. I constructed a simple device around a basic stamp which I call the Pongfong. It generates two tones, which can be set to pulse at a specified rate, and at two separately specified pitches. The input is provided through four potentiometers. It is mostly good for annoying my neighbors and bizarre performance arts displays. I hope to construct more complex devices of this nature in the near future and have begun work on a social networking site to attract other people who design digital instruments (www.musetronic.org).
