In september the CLAWAR conference will take place in Brussels

CLAWAR 2006 -- 9th International Conference on Climbing and Walking Robots and the Support Technologies for Mobile Machines, 12-14 September 2006 Brussels, Belgium.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 April 2006, so please feel free to submit!!!

His Majesty King Albert II of Belgium has visited our Robotics lab at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He was very interested in our robot projects.

Answer for Nate Waddoups:

Due to the one dimensional rotation of the joints, the robot can only walk in the sagittal plane, so the robot is attached to a XY-guiding frame, in order to prevent tipping over in the frontal plan. You can see the guiding mechanims in the video.

A new movie of our bipedal walking robot Lucy is available when she walks on a treadmill: Biped Lucy walking on a treadmill. She is not powered by electrical drives but by pleated pneumatic artificial muscles.
