Achoo! Gesundheit! What's the latest way to fight terror? Blow dust in the Terrorist's eyes. Yeah, that will stop them. Perhaps make them cry? Well, if the dust is smart dust, as this article says, perhaps it will fight terror and stop those bad guys in their tracks. Or not. Actually, this smart dust isn't all that smart but it is useful. All it can do is either face toward water or away from water so that it floats to the top and one side faces toward water and the other side faces away. I'm not sure how that qualifies as fighting terror, but the Berkley reasearchers hope that this new smart dust will somehow lead to making tiny dust sized robots that can detect anything from hazardous chemicals to biological agents and report back the moment it detects something. So here's dust in your eye, Terrorists!
