Let's All Give A Big Wecome Back Round of Applause to Robby the Robot!

This might be a little off topic, and even yesterday's news to some, but I was thrilled when I found out that New Line Entertainment will be doing a remake of The Forbidden Planet movie. The Forbidden Planet was one of the first big production movies in the 50's which starred a Robot, namely Robby the Robot, and it was a real thinker's movie. The Forbidden Planet was one of the first sci-fi movies and robot movies that I absolutely fell in love with. The movie featured a robot as a star, it had weird, loud, pulsing, mood-setting theremin music, cool-for-the-time special effects, and of course, the georgeous Anne Francis! New Line is the same company that brought us the new Lost in Space movie and the new not so benign B9 Robot. There's not much movie info yet, no script, no cast info, no crew info, but if they do it right, it could be a really cool robot movie in the pipe. The original movie was rated G. I'm guessing if they hardly try it easily could be an edge of your seat, super enthralling sci-fi horror flick to be rated R. Let your mind wonder at the possibilites!

Here's a few links: Unofficial Forbidden Planet Movie Home Page and Info from the Internet Movie Database.

You can of course find the old movie still for sale on ebay and amazon.com.
