MIT has announced that the MIT AI Lab, headed by Rodney Brooks, and the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science will merge. The resulting research group will be called the New Laboratory for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and will be the largest laboratory on the MIT campus. Rodney Brooks will direct the new combined group.
