Argo Robots vs. the Kyoto Treaty

Posted 21 Nov 2002 at 01:06 UTC by steve Share This

The Environment News Service has posted a new article on the Argo Project. Australia and the United States will be working together to deploy a fleet of floating robots that monitor climate information. Both countries have refused to sign onto the Kyoto treaty which would mandate only a tiny cut in greenhouse gases because they believe much larger cuts of 50% to 60% may be required by the end of the century. Using the Argo fleet they hope to produce more accurate models of the worlds climate. For more information on Argo, see our previous story from July of 2001.
