An alert robots.net reader recently submitted an article
about robot ducks being outlawed in Oregon. Researching the issue a bit
further we learned the problem of robot ducks like
Mojo
Mallard, Robo-Duk
and Wonder
Mallard, is wide-spread with 12
states outlawing the controversial
robot ducks and a bill in
congress to ban the use of robot ducks as decoy by hunters everywhere.
Interestingly, in Minnesota, only radio-controlled robot ducks are
illegal; autonomous ducks are okay. How about allowing the use of robot
ducks by hunters provided the hunters shoot only the robots and leave
the bio-ducks alone?
In other news...
A 13 year old girl was taken into custody this afternoon at an
annual robotics contest for making a robotic duck which is clearly
illegal in at least 12 states. The prosecuting attorney was heard
saying, "If she weighs as much as a duck then she's made of wood,
and therefore... a witch!" The girl was heard saying, "Tis a
fair court," as she was rushed away for sentencing.
Says you can blast it with a shotgun and repairs are limited to thirty
five bucks (retails for a hundred) It's good for life!
"..fully warranted against all defects [sic] and come with a life
time repair guarantee. Even if you shoot it, maximum repairs are only
$35.00."
"Hey Bob, yer duck is faded pretty bad"
"Yeah, I know"
