Let's Get Ready to Roomba!

An interesting article about iRobots new vacuum cleaner robot called Roomba. The article describes some of the trials and tribulations of the founders of iRobot, Rodney Brooks, Helen Greiner, and Colin Angle in their search for a marketable commercial robot platform. So after they get through exploring pyramid passages, they can have another robot clean up after everyone! Perhaps this robot priced at $199 will outperform previous commercial ventures of specialized robots like Coworker and My Real Baby.

From the article, it looks like several companies may be coming out with robot vacuum cleaners in the near future. I can't wait to read the Consumer Reports article that comares them.

I recently began a job of cleaning a church. While vacuuming one day I thought this would be a perfect job for a robot to do! I like the $199 price tag. I'm only wondering if I'll still get paid if I bring my robot in to do the job??? :-)
