The BBC has posted a story about London schools adopting a program of robot construction and competition in an effort to get students interested in engineering. Educators in the UK are concerned about a nationwide decline in the popularity of science and engineering among students. Schools where the robot program has been tried claim that it has created a much more positive view of engineering among the students. Additional funding may be made available soon so that similar programs can be started in additional schools.
