Kawanda Industries has announced a new Linux-powered, humanoid robot, called HRP-2P. A press release with additional photos is available. (both HRP-2P links are in Japanese.) The robot is 154cm tall and weighs 58kg. Kawanda says the robot is intended for work rather than entertainment. The Robot's Operating System is a Linux distribution known as ART-Linux and is derived from RT-Linux. In July, we reported on the companies first Humanoid Robot, named Isamu.
