Steven Slupsky has written an in-depth article for LinuxDevices.com on the proposed dimmPCI form factor for embedded hardware. DimmPCI allows the use of conventional, low-cost DIMM connectors as the basis of tiny, passive-backplane motherboards. The result is an ultra low-cost form factor. The article deals with Linux compatibility as well.
