The New York Times has an interesting article about Mark Tilden's trials and tribulations as a toy maker for Hasbro. He had to fight to get his B.I.O.-Bug toys built in an open way that would allow users to disassemble them and reuse their parts (Hasbro preferred Sony's attitude of suing customers who get too interested in their toys). They were plagued with terrorist-related marketing problems. However, despite the problems and the demise of the B.I.O.-Bug, Tilden and Hasbro are working on some new toys.
