Motion Free Scanning Radar

Posted 14 Feb 2002 at 05:14 UTC by steve Share This

A new technical report from the CMU Robotics Institute describes the experimental use of Motion Free Scanning Radar for scene modeling. The small, solid state radar, unlike optical or sonar sensors, can operate in dust, fog, vacuum and the dark. The goal is to produce useful imaging data at ranges up to 30m and obstacle detection data at up to 100m. I wonder if one of those Ramsey Radar kits could be adapted into a low-budget version of a radar imaging sensor?
