LED Chemical Sensor Array

Frank V. Bright and other researchers from the University at Buffalo have developed a method of pin-printing nanoscopic chemical sensors onto the tip of an LED (which is used to illuminate the samples). The new technique turns a single LED into a self-contained sensor array capable of detecting the presense of hundreds or even thousands of different chemicals.
