A New York Times article summarizes the current state-of-the-art in prostethic limbs. The story focuses on the Otto Bock C-Leg, a robotic artificial leg which uses microprocessors, strain gauges, angle sensors, hydraulics, and electronic valves to simulate the motion of a natural leg.
