Last month we told you about a robot that scares birds away from catfish ponds. Now, New Scientist has a story about two students in Ireland developing a robot that crawls along power lines, scaring away birds trying to roost there. The robot, called a Self-Sustained Induction Deferrer (SID), draws its power directly from the 11Kv powerlines through induction.
