Autonomous Drifting

Chris of PyroElectro writes, "Hope you guys like this one! The autonomous drifter is a car with a modified transmitter that allows a computer to control it using a serial port. It has both manual and autonomous control modes using a keyboard." The project pages for the drifting robot car include a full parts list, schematics, and source code. A PIC 18F452 microcontroller along with a MAX 233a to convert the serial for use with a computer serial port. There are plenty of photos showing how the radio controlled toy was modified to turn it into a computer controlled car.
