A Christian Science Monitor article brings up the subject of roboethics again, this time noting a new congressional caucus in the United States that will be considering the issue. Several Asian and European countries have been seriously considering roboethics issues for some time and it looks like the US is begining to follow their lead. The short article speculates on the usual ethical issues of robot sentience, robot rights, and responsibility for autonomous robots. Towards the end, the author suggests Congress may someday pass the "Robot Civil Rights Act of 2037".
